For the Second Consecutive Year, Cincinnati Keeps Food & Wine Best New Chef Title

"Best New Chef" Daniel Wright of Senate
Congratulations to Chef Daniel Wright of Senate, winner of Food & Wine magazine's The People's Best New Chef Award for the Great Lakes Region.  The publication nominates 10 new chefs yearly from 10 regions across the country, but the winners are voted by the people.  According to Food & Wine,
Daniel's must-try dish is the Chicago dog with sport peppers, dill pickle and celery salt. We haven't tried that one, but the Croque Madame dog and the Poutine fries are pretty incredible too! Chef
Jose Salazar
of The Palace

Chef Jose Salazar of The Palace restaurant at the Cincinnatian Hotel was last year's winner and also among this year's finalists.  Mike Isabella (Top Chef All Stars) was selected as the Mid-Atlantic winning chef for his work at Graffiato in Washington, DC.  We sampled some of his creations this past summer for a memorable experience (see our post http://entertainingviewsfromcinti.blogspot.com/2011/08/graffiato-hits-high-notes-score-mike.html).

The top honor of The People's Best New Chef for the entire country went to Chef Tim Byres of Smoke in Dallas.
